San Diego Christian Foundation (SDCF) is a non-profit 501c(3) California Corporation formed in 1978. The corporation is affiliated with, but not controlled by, local congregations... of the Church of Christ and was formed according to the bylaws “to do good works” which individual churches either could not or should not undertake. In addition to Canyon Villas Retirement, the good works referred to above include an Elementary School, a Summer Youth Camp in the mountains, and other educational endeavors. Except for the retirement facility, most other activities are funded by charitable donations. Canyon Villas Retirement was developed based upon the vision of fulfilling the needs of all the elderly residing in the San Diego community. It was intended to offer a home atmosphere for those who had reached a point in life where care was needed over and above that which could be delivered elsewhere. Due to the non-profit aspect of the Foundation, it was felt that quality care could be delivered at reasonable rates. Over the years which followed that dream, the facility has lived up to and exceeded those early expectations. In August 2006, Canyon Villas was voted #2 in retirement communities in “San Diego’s Best Reader’s Poll” conducted by the San Diego Union Tribune newspaper. Anyone is invited to visit the facility, walk the grounds, speak with residents, enjoy a leisurely lunch and ask questions of our knowledgeable staff. Simply call (858) 273-1306. |
